GUNTER, Texas — Gunter ISD head baseball coach Daryl Hellman will remain on paid administrative leave and will not return to duty as the district moves toward possible termination or non-renewal of his contract following an investigation into allegations that he made inappropriate comments.
Gunter ISD Superintendent Dr. Brandon Enos confirmed the district had completed its investigation into the allegations involving Hellman.
According to a district statement reported by KTEN, Hellman will:
“remain on administrative leave with pay, and, he will not be returning to duty, pending a recommendation by the superintendent to the board to terminate or non-renew Mr. Hellman’s contract and suspend him without pay.”
The wording is significant because Hellman has not yet been formally terminated or non-renewed by the Gunter ISD Board of Trustees. Instead, the superintendent intends to make that recommendation to the board, according to the district statement.
